Jackie and Kara

Jackie and Kara are recognized this month not only for their amazing dedication to taking their fitness to the next level, but most importantly for their support and commitment to EACH OTHER throughout a VERY CHALLENGING 10 week strength building program - affectionately called "THE SPARTA CHALLENGE!

JACKIE shares her BeFit JOURNEY in hopes of inspiring others to GET OFF THE COUCH and START LIVING LIFE!:

"I found BeFitLifestyle (in May 2009) through the recommendation of a friend, and I'm very thankful for that recommendation! I know it's a cliche, but I was seriously stuck in an unhealthy rut. A typical day for me went: work, couch, TV, popcorn, bed. Hardly a way to carry on with life. Periodically I would try a big box gym, but quickly fizzle out. When I started to work with Rhonda at BeFitLifestyle, I jumped in with both feet as usual, I wanted to reach my goals quickly and try everything at once. When I inevitably hit the wall again Rhonda was there to encourage me to push past it...and I DID!"  more . . .

"I'm a director /cinematographer in the film business and my job requires a lot of stamina for the long work hours and physical strength to operate the camera. . . particularly in the "handheld" mode, with the camera often on my shoulder for hours at a time.

I had been training for years at a large gym downtown and wanted a change. I wanted to find a place to work out with a trainer that was smaller, with more personalized attention and hopefully one that I could walk to.

I talked to Rhonda at BeFitLifestyle and when she told me about BeFit's whole health philosophy I knew I'd found the right place!

I told her that I wanted to develop more strength and stamina, that I was interested in starting to run again and that I wanted to tone up, lose some weight and look better."  more . . .

Beverly Hudson

"I have been training with Rhonda for the last eight years. Over the last two years I have gained weight and always said "tomorrow I'll start my diet". Needless to say, tomorrow never came. Our nieces wedding is coming up and I wanted to lose some weight. So, I embarked on the 'Lean in 13' program. Well, it worked. I was hoping for some weight loss, but it was great. The first 10 days was the cleanse. During this time I never felt tired or hungry. This was the easy part!! After the 10 days I embarked on the 13 day program. Again I was never tired or hungry while on it. I did have a blip in my program about half way through. We went out of town and I wasn't always in a place to follow the program perfectly. As soon as I got back, I jumped back into the program. So, I ended up losing 10.8 pounds and 7.5 total inches!! I'm now on my own program, but following the meal plan of the "Lean in 13" mostly. I'm still losing, but not as fast. I got the jump start I needed and I plan on getting back to where I feel comfortable again.

Of course, without Rhonda's personal training support I wouldn't have done as well either!! Rhonda has been most supportive during this time and it was greatly appreciated!!"

Michele Peters

"October 2009 will mark my five year anniversary of being a client at BeFitLifestyle. What a great five years it has been! When I started at BeFit my goals were pretty simple: tone my body and lose weight. I had already lost 100 pounds and I was aiming to take off the final 50 pounds.

At that time (Oct. 2004) my weekly exercise regime revolved solely around walking, which was good, but I needed more to help me reach my fitness goals. Despite never having lifted weights in my life, I decided BeFit was a good choice for me since it seemed like the place to get personalized and professional treatment without that big "gym" atmosphere. At the initial consultation, I immediately felt comfortable with Rhonda and trusted her to help me reach my goals. " more . . .

"I have been training with Leahna for the past five months and this is the first time I have ever had a personal trainer make such a difference in the way I look and feel. I have tried countless diets and workout programs in the past, and I am not exaggerating when I say that I have never gotten better results!!

I have lost 20 pounds and countless inches.

Recently, while bathing suit shopping, I picked my old size off the rack, not even dreaming of trying it on in the dreaded fitting room. The first time I tried it on was thankfully at a friend's house, because the bottoms were so baggy they barely stayed on!! I couldn't believe it, a loose bathing suit!! My friends and family have noticed the change in my appearance as well, when they ask what I am doing, I tell them about my personal trainer, Leahna. SHE IS THE BEST!!!"

Deborah and Christine

"It's Mom's fault, that's our story and we're sticking to it. Our love of chocolate and coffee began in the womb! All 4 sisters will attest to that. Of course now that we're no longer 2,3,7 & 8 years of age, it probably doesn't excuse our current eating habits. On June 1st this year my youngest sister Christine (no longer 2) and I banded together to change some of our bad habits, lose some weight and be healthier. Doing this together has been the best way. I don't think either of us would have had the stick-to-itiveness to do it alone.

Christine has been an elite amateur cross-country bike rider for over 20 years beginning when her twin boys were 6. She raced at an expert level and belongs to an all women's race team, Trek San Diego Go-Girls. They have competed in 24 hour races and cross country races. She has always struggled with her baby belly even with a 6 day a week training schedule. It got worse when she had her 3rd son at the age of 47. Her current workout is power walking 2 to 3 days a week, Stroller Strides total body work out another 2 days a week and 2 to 3 6am 2 hour mountain bike rides. Now that Jaxon is 20 months she was ready to try something new. " more . . .

"After years of talking about getting on a regular workout schedule and failing every time, I finally feel like I have a routine and look forward to working out or at least doing something active each day. I would go to the gym and hop on the treadmill or elliptical but then was lost when it came to any type of strength training. I would do some machines here and there but maybe this would happen a few times a month. I didn't start training to lose a lot of weight, but more to gain strength, increase my energy levels, improve my posture and work towards my ideal figure that I felt confident about each day.

For me, being held accountable to show up to workout is all it took. The only way I knew this was going to work was to find a personal trainer. I checked out quite a few personal trainers before I discovered Be Fit Lifestyle. They were referred to me and I knew the second I walked in that it was the perfect fit. I've had the opportunity to work with several trainers there and have had a great experience with each one. I know it can be expensive, but there is no price on feeling good about yourself and improving your lifestyle!

After only a few months of working out with Mike regularly (2 - 30 minute sessions and 1 hour boot camp a week), I feel the best I have felt in years. My arms and legs are more toned, I feel stronger, my posture is improving and I feel more confident about myself. He not only pushes me but is there to make sure my form is correct and to offer a guideline when Im at the gym and when I'm on my own time. Working out has become a routine in my daily schedule. For work, I'm a beer sales rep, so you can imagine how many events, dinners and entertaining I do during the week. Now, I plan my workout and figure out how I will need to make it happen rather than making excuses why I cant get up and go to the gym or bootcamp. There are no more excuses."

"I have always led an active lifestyle but only got into long distance running in the last few years. Long distance for me was a 10K - with a 1/2 marathon run integrated in my program sporadically. I trained for, and ran, the AFC 1/2 in '08 and was surprised how long the run felt and how much I struggled. The thought of me finishing a marathon at that point seemed like a slim chance.

Then I was introduced to BeFit and the VO2 Assessment. I took the VO2 test in November b/c I wanted to prepare myself for a marathon training program. I was skeptical at first, but soon noticed how much easier my training was becoming and how much longer I was able to train. I love the 'personal coach' aspect of this training technique. My coach is my body - my heart rate leads the way!

Every week of the marathon training program I feel much stronger than the last. Learning to understand my body more and to recognize the signs of when I need to let my body rest/heal has been a powerful new tool for me.

The Rock n Roll Marathon is in 6 weeks. I am confident I will complete it!

Having said this, I look forward to getting into some running programs with the BeFit group. I'm also looking forward to my VO2 reassessment after the recovery stage from the marathon. It will be interesting comparing the data and see what my 'coach' thinks of me now. Thanks both to Kristi and Rhonda for being so supportive in my marathon endeavor!"

"Just 3 months ago I was really struggling. I'd been running hard for nearly a year, yet I wasn't progressing like I had in the past. I had stopped losing weight, every run seemed difficult, my body was sore and tired, and it took too long to recover from just a few runs per week. I would try to run faster, but I couldn't sustain a fast pace for more than an hour without feeling like I would vomit. That's when my friend Kristi Anderson, BeFit's Pilates expert, suggested I take a VO2 test to find out why I wasn't improving. She said, "Rhonda has helped so many runners improve. I know she can help you! You might have to run really slow for a while but it will help. I promise." "Really slow?" I said, "I'm already really slow. I need to go faster!" I couldn't have been more wrong.

In mid-December I did my VO2 test and despite my urge to go faster, I followed Rhonda's heart rate cardio BASE building recommendations and ran really, really slow . After three weeks I loved it. I wasn't running faster yet, but I could feel major improvements in my body!! I was shedding fat, gaining strength and becoming more confident in my running ability.

One day I noticed that my hip and calf weren't hurting anymore. They'd been bothering me for months. What happened? Was this actually working!? It was getting easier and easier to run for an hour and after week 4 my pace really started to increase, without any extra effort!

After six weeks I had taken nearly one minute/mile off my run times. I felt great and was excited to start picking up the pace but Rhonda suggested that I continue to hold back and only elevate my HR a little from the initial testing recommendations - It thought that meant I had to keep plugging away for a few more weeks, but to my surprise, I was able to pick up the pace and my heart rate remained low. There was hope for me after all!

After eight weeks of slow, BASE Training, I went back to BeFit for my VO2 re-test results: my body is healthier, I've lost weight, my form has improved and I feel great. I also have a much better understanding of how my body is performing during a run. Most importantly, as Rhonda promised, I can now run faster and longer without burning out! I can run for over two hours with sustained energy and a great pace - I am in a perfect position to run the Rock 'n Roll Marathon in two months. I really have become a "Running Machine!" Thanks Kristi and Rhonda! "

"Feeling out of touch with my 36 year old body. Coming face to face with the reality that my "old routine" (from my 20's) was just not cutting it. I began to research what to do next. After a few months of searching, trying out a new fitness class here and there I still had not found what I was looking for. I was in need of a plan.

I still consider myself new to San Diego. My husband and I landed here via professional opportunities. We enjoy an active lifestyle, seemed like a perfect fit. Little did I know my new job would eat up every minute of my first year in San Diego. (So much for my active lifestyle.) At the start of my second year I decided to get my fitness act together and train for a marathon. I loved the training. However, the marathon left me in pain and unsure of how to proceed. The experience got me thinking about my overall approach to fitness. (What were my goals?) I began to feel board and listless with my fitness routine. In November 2008 I decided my new fitness plan needed to start immediately and I was going to needed help. A week later I was sitting at BitFit discussing my goals.

I signed up for the all inclusive 8 weeks program. I was very interested in the numbers, MY numbers. The 8-week program helped me collect these numbers: V02 max, heart rate and body fat percentage. Little did I know that Rhonda and Leahna were exactly the team I was looking for!

Rhonda became my cardio guru, keeping it simple, getting back to the basics. BASE training! It is simple - base train in the appropriate heart rate range. I now use a heart rate monitor with every cardio workout and have been tracking my heart rate average (per cardio workout) for 3 months. Using a heart rate monitor has connected me to my cardio work at a whole new level!

Leahna became my core strength guru. I had to give it up pretty early that I was the kind of girl who cheated at her abdominal work. A bad habit I was looking to break. I simply despised ab work! Leahna knew just what to do with me. She "tricked" me into doing core work with just about every movement we did. She kept me focused on my balance, the weights in my hands, the bosu under my feet or the big pink fitness ball. I cannot tell a lie I NOW find core work is fun! I welcome the challenge. Yes, the absolute truth. I am incredibly thankful for my experience with the BeFit staff!!"

"When a friend at work said to me one day, "Hey Dave, you should check out this personal training studio I go to. It's awesome." The first words out of my mouth were "Yeah, like I have money for a personal trainer." There I was with a wife and 2 little girls (in case you haven't noticed, kids are expensive), working full time and in law school, thinking that was just what I needed, a coworker putting pressure on me to buy another gym membership that I would use for about a month straight, and then once a month thereafter until the contract expired.

Well, after some persistence on my coworker's part, I agreed to speak with this "awesome" trainer, just so I could appease her and tell her it was too expensive. When the day came around, I expected to pull into the parking lot of a large cold gym, and meet with a guy with biceps bigger than brains, telling me he needed to talk to his manager to see if he could waive the initiation fee "just for me." Instead I pulled up to an intimate studio which was nothing like I had ever been to, and met with Rhonda, my co-worker's trainer, who talked to me about my past, my health, my fitness goals, and how BeFitLifestyle could help me accomplish them. I also met with one of BeFit's personal trainers Matt, the mandatory guy with big biceps, but a big brain and big goals to match. Rhonda and Matt made me feel comfortable in that office immediately and I went home with a really good impression.

After some pondering about the great people I had just met, I came to the realization that I couldn't afford not to join BeFit. I moved to CA from the land of cheesesteaks, pizza, soft pretzels, tastykakes, and bars on every corner. While I was busy, I knew I had to make some time for exercise, and needed to do it right. I've always considered myself to be somewhat athletic and I love sports, but I also love food and the socializing that comes with it. As a result I've struggled with weight for most of my life and it grew in my head on a daily basis that I needed to start really doing something about it, something permanent. I had a family to worry about, and I wasn't about to voluntarily risk my life for a cheesesteak anymore." more . . .

"Can you say gadget freak? That's me in a nutshell. Name a gadget and I'll bet I have one collecting dust somewhere. Among my many gadgets, the one that helped me find BeFitLifestyle is the Garmin Forerunner 305 (and I didn't even have to use its GPS function!) But before I talk about what happened after finding BeFitLifestyle, let me talk about where I was before - both physically, as well as mentally - in my pursuit of fitness and health.

I've always been an outdoors person and found passion in hiking and walking. Two years before teaming up with BeFitLifestyle, I decided to get serious about being in the best shape possible. I started running, doing a little strength training and took up biking. I got my RMR and VO2 max tested. I kept an online food journal that uses your RMR to factor caloric intake and stuck with whole unprocessed foods. I used books, training plans, ran a 5k, ran a 10k, rode a 50 mile tour on my bike, bought a Polar heart rate monitor, and then the Garmin Forerunner. I successfully lost 20 pounds and then I reached a plateau. I couldn't get to the next level to save my life! While searching for answers as to possible reasons why, I read that the Garmin has issues with calorie calculation on the Training Peaks forums. The posting went on to talk about New Leaf Metabolic testing and how it works with the Forerunner. Being the huge nerd that I am when it comes to functionality and my gadgets, I did an immediate search for a local assessment facility and BeFitLifestyle popped up as being only 2.6 miles from my house!

After looking at the BeFitLifestyle web site for a few days, I knew I was going to go beyond just getting a New Leaf Assessment to load into my Garmin. I knew I needed professional help. After meeting with Rhonda and then Karyn it was clear that while I had all the right information I hadn't been using it correctly. I needed (clearly) to SLOW down and incorporate WAY more strength training. So I decided to take the 8 week challenge and while I haven't lost weight, I have lost 3% body fat and my VO2 max has increased! Thanks to Mike and Bob I now have "guns", I now have stronger legs for running and biking, I now have more balance, I now have a stronger core, I now have fat burning muscles to help me lose the last 10-15 pounds of body fat and mostly importantly, I now have my HOPE back."

THANK YOU BeFitLifestyle for showing me the right way to workout, get the most out of my gadgets and achieve my goals!"

"When I started with Be Fit Lifestyle in May 2008 I was frustrated and sick and tired of the emotional roller coaster and yo-yo weight gain and loss. I shared my frustrations with Rhonda during a complimentary consultation and she recommended that I take part in BeFit's most popular, results focused, "All-inclusive 8 week Program." Rhonda also suggested, to help support my goals and to maximize my time and effort, that I incorporate a variety of Advocare nutritional products into my program. My first reaction was here we go again - another program that's supposed to help me lose weight, right? But because I sensed Rhonda's sincerity and needed convenience in my lifestyle of being a single parent, working full- time and incorporating exercise, I decided to give BeFit 8 weeks!

Rhonda was right - BeFit's unique metabolic exercise program, in combination with the Advocare products, gave me everything I needed to get it done. I meet with Mike Banta to do weight training at BeFit twice a week and worked 40-60min of HR focused cardio into the "other days." The Advocare products gave me the nutritional support and extra boost to keep me going (for 5 weeks already!). And I am really excited because since my May 8th "before" weigh-in, I have lost 6.4 lbs and 2.1% body fat!

I have been on this journey of weight loss since I gave birth to my son 4 years ago. I have had several personal trainers before and attended several gyms. BeFit is the best hands down! Thank God for Michele Peters who I met in our vegetarian cooking class - Michele Rocks! I am grateful for everyone at BeFit and Rhonda's vision and passion - BEFIT YOU ROCK!"

" have been working out with Rhonda since before there was a place called BeFitLifestyle, and she has helped me make many changes in my life. I have also been very fortunate to have had a workout partner since the beginning, Pat Stark, who has been a wonderful motivator to show up and do the work, as well as being a sort of human benchmark for how far we have come since we began to work out.

When we began working with Rhonda almost 6 years ago, I was completely out of shape, very sedentary, and feeling my age. I couldn't do a push-up, sit-ups were agony, weights were new to me, and forget cardio. With Rhonda's gentle yet persistent, persistent, persistent encouragement (and much whining on my part), I became much stronger and started to actually look forward to exercising. It took her a lot longer to convince me to include cardio into my life, since I am basically lazy and don't enjoy it much, but like a trickling stream she finally wore me down, and now I even look forward to that (especially Circuit Training with Mike Banta on Wed nights). A big part of my interest in doing cardio workouts came from doing the New Leaf program and getting a heart-rate monitor - it helps me to understand what benefits I am accruing with hard facts and information in front of me, and the science of it fascinates me. I finally get that the cardio element of exercise is vastly important to losing weight, and I am getting more consistent with this, but I am lazy." more . . .

"Recently my wife, Beverly, and I were watching Masterpiece Theatre on TV, and one of the characters said something I thought was profound - "It's not what we say or feel that makes us what we are, it's what we do, or not do". I used to want to be fit and I used to wish that I could participate in athletic events but I just didn't feel like I had the skill, strength, endurance, etc. Then I met Rhonda Nicholson. Rhonda had the knowledge, enthusiasm and motivational skill to help me achieve things I never thought were possible.

I just finished my sixth - and in many ways my most successful - half marathon. Amazingly, I've run three half marathons in the past sixth months and I'm registered for another one in August. And, while it's true that I had to take responsibility for my own accomplishments and "do" the hard work, it's also true that I could have never achieved what I have achieved without Rhonda. Her never-ending support and tireless help - both in the run group and in our twice-a-week weight training sessions - made all the difference. Of course, I'm also very blessed to have a fantastic wife who has encouraged me every step of the way, a wonderful supportive family, and terrific friends in the BeFitLifestyle Run/Walk Group.

I would encourage anyone who wants to move past thinking about getting fit and wishing things were different to talk to Rhonda and her great team of trainers. They really will make a difference in your life. And, you really can accomplish more than you think you can."

Jennifer Jung

"I met Rhonda Nicholson when we were just kids, and in the prime of our lives! Through the years, things change and our bodies just don't respond like they used to! After convincing Rhonda to move to San Diego several years ago, she returned the favor by introducing me to running (not really a fair trade if you ask me!).

I had never been a runner, nor did I ever care to be one (so I thought), but I had a wedding coming up, and I wanted to look good; so I gave in. Before I knew it I had completed my first 5k then 10k and then a Half Marathon. After that, I was hooked!" more . . .

"Over the last 8 weeks, I've lost 18 pounds and I couldn't have done it without Rosanna and the support from the rest of the BeFit staff. When I first arrived at BeFitLifestyle, I instantly felt welcomed. I was introduced to all the trainers, so I never had that uncomfortable feeling of walking into a place without knowing someone. Additionally, all the trainers remembered my name and greeted me when I arrived. It was this kind of atmosphere, the comfortable surroundings, that actually made me look forward to working out - and it was great for my self- esteem! Thank you so much for all your support. Now, let's see what we can accomplish together in 2008!"

"When I arrived at the Carlsbad Half Marathon 2007, I was there to watch my sister Lora, who is a member of BeFit, run to the end of the finish line. I was so proud of her and all that she had accomplished. After seeing the pain, yet this light of fulfillment in her accomplishment, it inspired me to do the same. With her inspiration and support I started in the BeFit run group in February of 2007. I started with just walking, quickly progressing into jogging and then running! With my feet feeling lighter I decided to register for the Women's Nike Half with my sister.

In the beginning, I had no intention to register for a half marathon, my main goal was to lose weight and get healthy again." more . . .

Nora Threlkel

"When I joined BeFitLifestyle in January 2007, I was out of shape - a true couch-potato! But once I made up my mind to do something about it, I jumped in with both feet. I started walking with the Run/Walk Group on Saturday mornings and Wednesday nights and I strength trained with Jen twice a week - surprisingly, I quickly saw results!

Within a few weeks I was no longer out of breath climbing the three flights to my apartment. I felt stronger and more confident; even my posture improved!! As I gained more confidence and learned about heart rate training, I started jogging with the Run/Walk Group and eventually ran the Coronado 5K on July 4th! Just recently, I started doing a Sunday morning Circuit Training Class to expand my workouts a little.

I never thought that I would be able to run five miles or to do the strength training I am able to do with Jen, but BeFitLifestyle helped me develop a fun, injury-free plan. They started out at my level and slowly helped me build strength and endurance. They are so positive all of the time, it is hard not to succeed with them cheering you on.

To put things in perspective, I have lost over 10% bodyfat since January and I feel great about it!! I am looking forward to many more races and a long association with BeFitLifestyle. Thank you Rhonda, Jen, Paul and everyone at BeFit!"

Valerie Goodpaster

"I just finished my first week of training and I used my heart monitor for the first time. I was ready to throw the chest band away when I realized it knew what it was doing. If I stay just below the high end of my training zone, my run is a WHOLE lot easier. As the training gets more intense, I hope my training zone moves up a bit, even now 138 BPM seems a little low...but I am not complaining since my goal right now is just to try and be comfortable while running. Thank you so much for suggesting it. I ran (literally) into another runner this morning and told her that I was using the band for the first time and how much I liked it and she may be around to see you. She is training for the Rock and Roll next year. Again, thanks, I love my new training tool!"

"When I first made a decision to get healthier and stronger, I felt intimidated by the challenge that lie ahead. In my 37 years (GULP) I never felt comfortable or motivated to exercise and gain strength. BeFitLifestyle has given me the tools and motivation to be a healthier me. The second I walked through the doors of BeFit, I felt welcomed and enthusiastic to learn. I love the changes I can see and feel in myself. My energy level, strength and dedication have grown. I never thought I would say I LOVE exercising but I look forward to my training with Karyn every week. Thank you Rhonda for creating such a positive and supportive place that changes lives! Thank you BeFit for giving me the tools and knowledge to a healthier and stronger me!"

Amy Barnhart

"Prior to joining BeFit, I had done Weight Watchers and had successfully lost 50 pounds and developed a very active lifestyle of outdoor cycling and regular yoga. After this increase in activity, I was noticing that Weight Watchers was not continuing to give me the results that I had previously acheived. I was feeling very frustrated because I was eating less and exercising more, but actually gaining weight!!

I decided to try a new approach and began working out with BeFitLifestyle; I have been working with BeFit personal trainer, Paul Terry, on my strength training and BeFit sports nutritionist, Karyn Tammaro, on my nutrition.

Surprisingly, through the New Leaf metabolic testing that I did at BeFit, I learned in the very first week, that my body was overtrained - Paul and Karyn explained that an overtrained body needs to eat more and exercise at a lower intensity in order to repair muscle and release stubborn fat stores. Amazingly, within 4 weeks, I had lost 7 pounds and felt better than ever!

I continue to work out at BeFitLifestyle - gaining strength and power without overtraining. I am so pleased with my results!"

"Last January (2006) I made the decision to live a healthier lifestyle. Knowing that I couldn't afford a personal trainer, I decided to join the BeFit Shape Up for Summer 8 week challenge. My greatest motivation was proving to myself, and everyone else, that I could do it on my own using the information given to me at the BeFit 8 week challenge kick-off. I created a home gym, followed the cardio schedule exactly as it was laid out, and used exercises from prior BeFit training sessions for strength training. Finally everything came together for me, and I lost 25lbs in 2006!" more . . .

"I love BeFitLifestyle! I know it sounds cheesy, but it's the truth BFL has literally changed my life and probably saved it too. Stressed out from work, high blood pressure and overweight I received a gift certificate to BFL from my wife. I had never attend a gym and joked about the fact "that I haven't exercised since 1973". After visiting the gym, meeting the wonderful BFL Team I was hooked." more . . .

"I was always the last kid picked for teams in grade school. I've always felt pretty intimidated by and alienated from athletics. So it was incredibly difficult for me to expose myself to a personal trainer, and to gather the courage to work out in front of other people, much less other clients who were athletes. more . . .

"Before I starting my training and nutrition programs at BeFitLifestyle, I considered myself a fairly active person, but always struggled with my weight. I had been running with a group for two years and successfully completed 3 marathons, but something was missing with my training and I seemed to just keep gaining more weight. more . . .

I wish now that we'd taken a photograph of how I looked when I first went to see Rhonda in Oct of 2002 at age 47. But like many people returning to exercise, I didn't want to see a photograph of myself. Yikes. Originally I thought I'd hire Rhonda for a session or two to get me started doing something aerobic, since I'd become a couch potato and was having trouble getting started on my own. I'd been paying for a gym membership for yearsÖ and never going. more . . .

"Before joining BeFitLifestyle (BFL) I had made a decision to improve my health and had made substantial progress toward my goal of having a healthy BMI; I had already lost 100 pounds.

Yet still wanting to loose 50 more pounds and tone up my body, I followed a friend's suggestion to visit BFL to see how they might enhance my efforts. (Thanks Pat!)

I liked what I saw, e.g., personal attention and no crowded "gym" atmosphere. I decided it was time to move my exercise regimen beyond walking and begin working with a professional to incorporate strength and cardio training into my weekly routine." more . . .

"I signed up with BeFitLifestyle on July 1st, 2004. I travel a lot for work - my idea of exercise was running from one gate to the next...I was always out of breath! I started off slow, weight training twice a week while I was in town. In November, I started adding some cardio to my program. Be January, my trainer said I should "step it up" - so I did. I started training 3 times per week and started adding more cardio. I am now running and biking - I've even signed up for my first triathlon! It's been 8 months and I've lost some noticeable inches (my clothes are fitting great!) I'm not here to lose weight, although, I've done that too!
