Instructor Descriptions:

Leslie Arita first began practicing yoga in 2002 and has been in love with the practice ever since. Through her practice she experienced the coming together of the body, mind, and spirit, and the power of letting go. Leslie continues to expand her awareness through her practice and enjoys sharing the benefits of yoga with others. She has studied mainly in San Diego in the Ashtanga tradition and completed her teacher training with Tim Miller.

Leslie's Classes Include:
Multi-Level Ashtanga Yoga
(Tues 9-10 am and Thurs 6:00-7:00 am) is a fluid, more challenging sequence of postures building strength and raising breath awareness. This class is an abbreviated version of the Primary Series of Ashtanga, beginning with sun salutations to warm the body then progressing through standing postures, seated, and finally floor positions. If you're new to the Ashtanga style practice we offer modifications and chances to rest and observe.

Multi-Level Flow (Thurs 9-10 am) builds strength and flexibility through a flow of yoga postures and awareness of breath. This class will cover a variety of postures from multiple disciplines. The instructor may take requests at the beginning of class to allow focus on certain areas of the body, hips, shoulders, etc., or to request certain postures be included in the sequence.

Diana Smith is a physical therapist/registered yoga instructor with a passion for helping other reach their fitness potential through mind/body awareness. Diana has an emphasis in Iyengar Yoga, a form of Hatha yoga, which is based on giving primacy to the physical alignment of the body in the poses and once this balance is created in the body, it will be reflected in the mind. Her classes uniquely integrate her physical therapy and Iyengar expertise to bring you a class specially designed to release muscular tension and "open" tight joints to eliminate soreness and prevent injury.
