Youth Programs

"Shaping America's Youth," or SAY, developed in 2004 by the Association for Weight Management and Obesity Prevention, was implemented to help reverse the rapidly increasing prevalence of overweight and inactivity among children and adolescents.
In support of this and other youth initiatives, BeFitLifestyle is proud to partner with local area schools like St. Vincent de Paul, to offer a variety of after school youth programs for boys and girls grades K-8th.
Our programs, such as FUN-ctional Fitness and Youth Yoga are designed to be fun, interactive, and progressive - putting participants at ease while allowing them to explore their own abilities in a non-competative learning environment.
Youth Programs are currently organized and offered through local area schools. If you are interested in exploring BeFit Youth Program options for your child's school, please contact Rhonda Nicholson at BeFitLifestyle for more information . . . 619-491-0139.
Youth Program Descriptions:
YOUTH YOGA
Youth Yoga (YY) classes are designed to expose children to the principles of proper breathing, stretching, relaxation and balance. Our YY program teaches simple and easy yoga stretches/postures, including standing balance work, animal walking and floor stretching, as well as relaxation methods, such as squeeze and relax technique, belly breathing and pranayama (yoga breathing) for children to begin to use in their daily life with an understanding of the mind and body connection.
FUN-ctional FITNESS
FUN-ctional Fitness (FF) classes are designed to introduce a fun and progressive approach to a variety of fitness activities involving jump ropes, weighted balls, agility ladder, speed cones and more! Our FF program creatively integrates fun physical skills with common athletic activities that lead to improvements in hand-eye coordination, mind-to-body awareness, overall strength and cardiovascular endurance.
